Silicon Lure Nerd Fishing Worthy Squid Jig Fit Shadow Glow
Nothing beats a small Silicone Squid – as long as it's made in the right size, shape and smell exclusively for our waters and fish. Worthy Squid hides many hours of design detail and just as many hours of rock fishing. The squid incorporates a clever idea. Its middle tentacles have paddle tails, i.e. a small "heel" at the end. Something that gives them a distinct movement, as minnow-type silicones of this kind have. Its side tentacles are essentially curly tails, reinforced at the ends. In essence, it creates a unique movement by combining elements from two types of silicone artificials. The body with side fins is designed to give the rig a horizontal position. During recovery and stability in sailing even in draft during pauses. The head has been designed bulkier to box in enough material for the tip of the hook to secure it securely and resist tearing – hugely important for such a small rig. A design intervention, an intelligent idea, which results from the endless hours on the rocks and from the daily contact with fishermen from all over Greece. It is nothing more than a round notch on the back of the squid that allows our pencilhead or Cheburashka to nestle into its body and become “one body”! Even more subtle presentation that has given us great results on big and crafty fish. Try Jig-Fit with NerdFishing's pencil heads in Glow and UV colors and enjoy endless play with these little silicone lures that have been giving huge thrills so far! The artificial has been made in such a way that it is durable but above all versatile. It has been taken into account that a "scourge" of the silicone in our waters is the cuts that render the artificial useless. Giorgos Kalaganis and Giorgos Tyrikos gave a new perspective that at the same time opens up many avenues in our strategy. If one of the tentacles is cut, the lure can work great with the rest. Since each one individually has its own intense movement. Another approach is to remove the corresponding one and stay with the other two. There are three ways to work based on which tentacles we have left or choose to keep:
"Full mode"
When we hold all the tentacles, the lure shows all its grace mainly with fast retrieves. It's the best way to bring his 4 tentacles to life and bring out all his movement. The Calamari with 4 tentacles can be used from bottom fishing to intense darting. High up in the water column our approach is more aggressive. As we need enough energy for full mode to work. This approach is ideal for days with active fish feeding on fast retrieves in the shallows or even medium waters with heavy darting in the warmer months of the year. Huge carp, melanuria and large bream have appreciated this form, caught in many parts of Greece.
“Paddle Tail” mode
By keeping only the middle tentacles, we essentially make a kind of minnow with two minnows, each with a heel. There we can work both with stable recoveries but also with many jerks, which is the specialty of this mode. Our lure now has a slim character so the freedom of movement makes it ideal for bones and melanurias especially in midwaters and on streams. The slightest movement brings the delicate tentacles to life in the most intense way.
“Curly Tail” mode
The version of the lure that responds famously to slow, steady retrieves and the version that has unlocked most of the huge carp and even big bass – trophies for LRF's technique. With the middle tentacles missing the Worthy Squid gives space to the center in front of its head and shows how well designed its curly tails are in a movement that is literally mesmerizing. Even with a very slow retrieve the swimming it does is fantastic and is ideal for searching the water column from bottom to foam. The Nerd Fishing squid can be rigged with a variety of pencil heads as well as cheburaska. So it makes sense that it would become one of the most famous silicones for LRF long before its release. As a booster for the "Nerd Squid" we chose something equally innovative, olive oil. The pure olive oil of our place has excellent properties as a natural preservative while being particularly attractive to fish. To this we added squid smell, with results that exceeded all expectations.
